SPACE is looking for an international stage

After the interlocal projects The Place Where We Belong (Netherlands, Düsseldorf, Berlin), Back to the Present (Hungary, Germany), Design God (Netherlands, Germany, Belgium) en Holland Tsunami (Hungary, Netherlands), Space is currently prepairing the long term project iWitness.

iWitness is an interactive performance. The central theme is the place of newcomers in our society and the ways in which we have historically dealt with this issue. How does history affect our current situation? How reliable are our memories? And most important of all:
what exactly are our responsibilities?

In iWitness audience members become accessories to the creation of a political and social witch hunt. A human drama unfolds, develops from a national disaster to a national disgrace, and ultimately gains a place in history. Our audience members observe the drama. They are cast as witnesses and have to relate to the game being played with them. The performance is partly staged, but the audience also has a participatory role imposed on it.
